Conducted in Spanish, the course introduces the principles of literary analysis, based on reading and discussion of Hispanic literary texts. Includes fiction, drama, essay, and poetry from Spain and Spanish America. (Offered every fourth semester.)
Reflection: In this course we got to learn about the Hispanic Literature. Unlike other literature courses I took in the years at CSUMB we focused on poems, dramas, and lots of important novels. We started with Las Jarchas which were a collection of poem songs that were some of the first works of Spanish literature. Our professor Ovidio really enjoyed acting so in groups of 4-5 we would have to read and act our a piece of reading. This was really fun because there were students who didn't really want to act it out but it was exciting to se everyone personal aspect into the play. El SIglo de Oro was the main time period we focused on during this semester. Each student got to analyze a different literature piece and this helped us develop our critical thinking skills and improving our writing.
